The MOJ Tea Plant at Mansehra has a capacity of producing 4080 kilograms of tea per month. The machinery for the tea plant has been procured from Japans . The Japanese engineers also helped in the installation of the plant, while their agricultural scientists imparted training to the MOJ staff about tea processing, grading techniques etc. The plant, which, inclusive of installation charges, costs $179,230, started trial production in April 2004.
